Call all Military Veterans: Come ride with us and experience the healing power of horses!
Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT) has proven beneficial for Veterans and family members who have experienced trauma, such as Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and other physical, mental, and emotional challenges.
Just being around a therapy horse, whether one chooses, to ride, groom, or spend time walking on the trail can bring a sense of peace and well-being. The rhythm of the horse while riding, hearing the beat of their hooves as they touch the ground, or just standing listening to them breathe is an experience like no other.
Physical, cognitive, and emotional benefits also come with horseback riding. Oxytocin is produced in the human body which is why people feel better after riding. Many riders in our program report feeling physically stronger and more flexible. They also experience increased self-esteem, decreased anxiety, improvements in problem solving, attention, memory, and more!
